Wooing customers
Innovative methods of marketing are not the preserve of top business school graduates or large corporates. Hotels on the wayside in Kozhikode city are also equally proficient, if not more, in attracting customers.
For attracting the customers, who will otherwise drift away, they have posted a person in front of the hotels.
Dressed as a security guard, this man will suddenly pull out a board resembling the `stop' signal shown by traffic police personnel. The baord displays the hotel's name and invites speeding motorists for a lunch.
Some even flaunt a whistle, which they blow sometimes to draw the attention of potential customers.
However, this practice also poses a threat to motorists .
They could get distracted while driving on busy roads. This may also lead to accidents.
