Memon, NCP secretary

MUMBAI
: NCP president and Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar has appointed noted lawyer Majeed Memon the party secretary. He was earlier with the Samajwadi Party.
Mr. Memon had been practising law for over 30 years. He had appeared in high profile and sensitive cases in the country and overseas too. He was the lawyer of the 1993 Mumbai blasts accused.
He represented social activist Anna Hazare when the latter sought the High Court intervention in the Telgi stamp scam.
Mr. Memon had worked in international human rights courts in Strasbourg, France, and had fought for the rights of the deprived sections of society.
