Women students protest against affiliation with university

PROTEST: Members of ABVP staging a demonstration in Gulbarga city on Thursday against the decision of the State Government to affiliate all women's colleges in the 12 districts of the State with the Women's University in Bijapur.

GULBARGA: Women students of different colleges in Gulbarga city owing allegiance to the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishat (ABVP) on Thursday held a demonstration here protesting against the decision of the State government to compulsorily affiliate all women's colleges in the 12 districts of the State with the Women's University in Bijapur.

The students who took out a procession to the Sardar Vallabhai Patel Chowk shouted slogans against the Government and in a memorandum submitted to the district authorities said affiliation of women's colleges with the women's university would not serve the interests of women students pursuing higher education in women's colleges.
