CCS Infotech to form JV in South Africa

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: CCS Infotech Ltd. is planning to set up a joint venture in South Africa with its local marketing partner. Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, M.A. Hasan Abdul Kader, Managing Director, said CCS would have 49 per cent stake in the proposed joint venture.

The venture would eventually make computer hardware in that country, he added.

The company, he said, had drawn up a Rs.20-crore investment plan that would see it expand its operations in Singapore, beef up its production capacity at its Pondicherry plant from the current 100 PCs (personal computers) a day to 150 PCs and set up the proposed joint venture in South Africa.

Mr. Kumar also informed presspersons that CCS had landed a Rs. 4-crore order to supply to Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) PCs, servers, laptops, printers and peripherals and maintain the same for five years.
