Lawyers boycott courts

VELLORE: Lawyers boycotted courts here on Thursday protesting against the issue of a Madras High Court circular directing the civil side judiciary to list 40 cases and dispose of 30 of them every month. It would continue on Friday, said M. Baskaran, president, advocates association. The decision was taken at the general council meeting on Thursday. He said that with only 20 working days in a month, it would be impossible to dispose of 30 civil cases in a month.
