THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Steps have been taken to revise the zoning regulation norms in town planning schemes to end delay in issuing building permits, Local Administration Minister Paloli Mohammed Kutty has said. Mr. Kutty said in a release here on Thursday that permission was being delayed in those areas where development schemes had been implemented. The Government was aware that these schemes, prepared according to the town planning rules and regulations, had not been amended from time to time to meet the increasing demand to construct new buildings. This caused a lot of inconvenience to the public at various places, the release said. Preparation of the town planning schemes for ideal use of available space is a time consuming process. The Chief Town Planner (CTP) has been directed to submit the revised zoning regulation norms in town planning schemes within three months.
