Letters to the Editor
Wednesday's grenade attack at the ISKCON temple complex in Imphal only reiterates the security threat the country is up against. One has almost started anticipating terror strikes in places of worship on auspicious days. The incident reflects the proliferation of terrorist groups across the country. It calls for a comprehensive anti-terror squad similar to the defence forces. Specialised training should be imparted to the personnel to deal with and repulse terror attacks. It is time proactive steps were taken to face the challenge posed by such incidents.
The picture of a child wounded in the attack was heartrending. It is necessary to ensure that nothing is left to chance.
