Syndicate Bank's new deposit scheme

BANGALORE: Syndicate Bank has launched a new deposit scheme wherein an individual or Hindu Undivided Family (HUF) can invest an amount in multiples of Rs. 100 for a minimum period of five years at an interest rate of 8 per cent annually. The depositor will be eligible for tax benefit under Sec. 80C up to an investment of Rs. 1 lakh during the year. Senior citizens are eligible for an additional interest of one per cent, says a bank release.
