Ensure gas supply within four days, says Minister

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Agriculture and Civil Supplies Minister N. Raghuveera Reddy on Thursday directed LPG companies and department officials to ensure that a gas cylinder reaches consumer within four days of booking.

He issued the instruction after reviewing the supply situation with senior officials and representatives of gas companies in his chambers.

Officials told Mr. Reddy that a few dealers were facing shortage while the overall supply position was satisfactory.

Representatives said that there was a delay in LPG supply in the flood-affected areas. But, the Minister told officials that the department would not tolerate complaints of delay in the supply.

He asked the department to organise district-level special review meetings with Joint Collectors to sort out the supply problems. He said that consumers should not face difficulties in view of the festive season.
