The Heart Care Foundation of India, along with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi and the Delhi Government's Health Department, is organising the annual MTNL Perfect Health Mela at Sheikh Sarai in the Capital from October 10 to 16. Organised every year to create public awareness about the rising incidence of various diseases, the mela this year round will focus on the health scenario from the very basic to the most advanced diseases. Present at a press conference here on Thursday to announce the mela dates was well known choreographer Ashley Lobo who prescribed both yoga and aerobic exercise to remain fit. "While yoga improves the mind-body concentration, aerobic exercise leads to physical fitness. Cycling, jogging, brisk walking and swimming are exercises that not only increase longevity but also prevent heart attacks and paralysis. To remain fit one has to concentrate on a proper diet, avoid consumption of junk food and take to brisk walking. I believe that brisk walking is the best for cardiovascular fitness,'' said Ashley. -- Bindu Shajan Perappadan
