Thiruvananthapuram: A team of medical professionals from the Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Pondicherry, visited Thiruvananthapuram Medical College (TMC) on Thursday to assess the infrastructure, medical and teaching facilities at the institution. The five-member team has been deputed by the Centre to inspect the institution and scrutinise the Rs.100-crore proposal for development that the medical college authorities had submitted to the Union Government last month. The college authorities had submitted the development proposal to the Centre after it was chosen, along with another 12 institutions in the country, for availing itself of a grant of Rs.100 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana.
