Anti-encroachment drive in Capital

NEW DELHI: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi has initiated a major encroachment removal drive at Sonia Cinema complex at Vikaspuri.

According to an MCD release, the encroachments carried out by owners of 120 Delhi Development Authority flats in GG-I Block were removed. The encroachments included boundary walls and rooms. In all, 450 square metres of land was freed from unauthorised encroachments.

In the city zone, encroachments on public land were removed from Nizamuddin West, while 11 old cars parked on public land were seized.

Envoy releases book

NEW DELHI: Japanese Ambassador Yasukuni Enoki released a book titled "Breakthrough Management" -- co-authored by Prof. Shoji Shiba and David Walden -- at a function here this past week.

Originally published by Prof. Shiba in Japanese, the book is described as a "must-read" for students of management and young managers.

"Plant more trees"

NEW DELHI: Delhi Assembly Speaker Chaudhary Prem Singh on Thursday appealed to the Capital's citizens to plant more trees to ensure a clean and green Delhi.

Launching a "Van Mahotsav" tree plantation drive at Dera village in South Delhi, Mr. Singh said: "Trees are our real friends as they clean the environment".

Hindi edition

NEW DELHI: The Hindi edition of the book, "In Quest of Panacea -- Successes and Failures of Yellapragada SubbaRow'', has been released here. While the original book was written by journalist S.P.K. Gupta in collaboration with Edgar L. Milford, the Hindi adaptation, "Sarv Rog Nivarinee Kee Khoj Meing Doctor Yellapragada Subbaaraav Kee Amar Kahanee'', has been done by journalist, Vinod Kumar Mishra.
