No evidence against Joseph: Vigilance
Kochi:
The Vigilance Department on Thursday said there was no evidence so far to implicate Public Works Minister P.J. Joseph in any of the cases registered in connection with irregularities in the Maithri housing project.
Making a submission in the Kerala High Court, Additional Director Siby Mathew said the Minister was not a suspect in any of the inquiries in progress in various units of the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau.
Youth Congress leader P.V. Rajesh had filed a public interest litigation petition seeking an inquiry against Mr. Joseph.
The department said investigation revealed irregularities on the part of implementing officials such as tahsildars, officers of grama panchayats and the Housing Board and some beneficiaries of the scheme. A Bench of Justices K.S. Radhakrishnan and V. Ramkumar adjourned the case to next week. PTI
