BHOPAL: The district health and medical officers in Madhya Pradesh have been asked by the State Government to take preventive measures to check spread of diseases in the wake of torrential rain and floods that have claimed several lives and caused extensive damage to property. The officials have been asked to identify the flood-affected areas and ensure availability of medical facilities at various relief camps.
They have also been asked to maintain adequate stocks of medicines and build up
The State Government has also decided to involve anganwadi workers and voluntary organisations in the task of tackling the situation in the aftermath of the floods.
The health authorities would now be setting up temporary hospitals in the flood-affected areas and making special arrangements to prevent the spread of malaria as well as
The health department officers would be seeking assistance and cooperation of private hospitals and doctors. The field staff of the State Health Administration have been asked to strengthen their information dissemination system.
