Militants kill CRPF man in Kashmir

SRINAGAR:
After an incident-free Independence Day, militants on Thursday struck in a big wayin Srinagar, attacking the personnel of the Jammu and Kashmir Police and Central Reserve Police Force. One CRPF man was killed and three injured.
Inspector-General, CRPF, Kashmir, A.P. Maheshwari, told The Hindu that Head Constable K.N. Mishra and Constable Akhlesh Kumar both from the 133rd battalion of the CRPF were fired upon in Koker Bazar at around 11.30 a.m. "Both were critically injured and the head constable later died of their injuries in hospital," he said.
