Amalapuram: The Central relief team headed by Vipinkumar Saxena, Joint Secretary, Union Home Ministry on Friday visited flood-hit areas in Konaseema and expressed its shock over the losses. The three-member team, which arrived here by helicopter from Visakhapatnam were taken to RDO's office first, where the district administration arranged a photo exhibition on flood damages. Along with Mr. Saxena, Mr. Guru Mukhi and Raina were briefed by Mr. MVPC Sastry, Special Officer sent by the state government about the loss to different departments. East Godavari district Collector M. Subrahmanyam explained department-wise losses to the team through power-point presentation.
Motorcycle ride
Then, the team members were taken to Sanipallilanka breach on motorcycles which had inundated about 50 villages during the floods. Mr. Saxena and others really moved by the narration of flood victims who explained them about how they spent seven days during and after floods. The team enquired about the quality of food and relief measures.
