Rajahmundry: AA Khan, ED & Asset Manager, ONGC ,Rajahmundry Asset, has said teachers should take the initiative to update themselves with the latest trends of technology. He was delivering the keynote address after inaugurating the Annual Regional Principals Conference-2006, of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Hyderabad Region, being held here. This conference is being hosted by Kendriya Vidyalaya, Rajahmundry. Mr. Khan said ONGC had always in the forefront in extending help to the poor and needy children by providing furniture, libraries, teaching aids, etc, to schools and educational institutions. M. S. Chakravarthy, Mayor of Rajahmundry, who was the guest of honour of the inaugural function, asked teachers to equip students of the present globalised era, to face not only domestic challenges but also global challenges. He put forth various suggestions like importance of teaching local language in Kendriya Vidyalaya, increasing the pass percentage and standards of teaching, etc. He also asked KV authorities to admit more students locally and assured all possible support from next academic year onwards. Mr. Chakravarthy released greeting cards made by the students of Kendriya Vidyalaya and Mr A A Khan, inaugurated the magazine brought out by Kendriya Vidyala, Rajahmundry.
