Low-flying chopper creates panic

Special Correspondent

TIRUPATI: For the second time in less than a week, a chopper flew at a relatively lower altitude the over the sensitive Tirumala temple complex giving few anxious moments to the security personnel posted at the temple.

The incident happening as it did in the context of the visit of a number of VVIPs on Saturday and Sunday, has touched off a flurry of activity in the civil and the TTD's security set-up. However, the TTD security officials heaved a sigh of relief when they were informed by the Tirupati ATC crew that a `trainee pilot' of the helicopter had `by mistake' strayed into the no-fly-zone.
