N.K. Premachandran to inaugurate study camp

KOLLAM: Minister for Water Resources N.K. Premachandran will inaugurate the district conference and study-camp of the Kerala State Ex-Services League here on Sunday.

On the occasion, cash awards will be presented to children of ex-servicemen who had registered outstanding performance in this year's SSLC Examinations.

At a press conference here on Friday, the district president of the League, Captain N.P. Muralidharan Pillai, and other office-bearers said 200 ex-servicemen from the district would participate in the Parliament march in Delhi on November 15.

A march will also be held in the district on that to day to express solidarity.

Captain Pillai said the march was being organised to press for various demands of ex-servicemen. The demands include special recruitment to fill up reservation quota for ex-servicemen in public sector undertakings and nationalised banks, constitution of a National Ex-servicemen Corporation, implementation of one-rank-one-pension system, insurance coverage, 25 per cent reservation for ex-servicemen in police, excise, fire force and forest departments and reconstitution of the Sainik Welfare Board.
