BANGALORE: Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly N. Dharam Singh is of the view that the re-entry of Governor of Maharashtra S.M. Krishna into State politics would revitalise the Congress. Replying to a question at a press conference here on Friday on the reported eagerness of Mr. Krishna to give up the governorship and return to active politics, Mr. Dharam Singh said, "Mr. Krishna is welcome to return to State politics." "It would be more so if the Congress president Sonia Gandhi also wants him to take up the leadership of the party and revamp it in the State," Mr. Dharam Singh added. He dismissed as "childish" the reports that when he was the Chief Minister, Mr. Krishna and the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president M. Mallikarjun Kharge had met the principal accused in the fake stamp paper racket Abdul Kareem Telgi at the Parappana Agrahara Jail here. He said the Congress had not stooped to the level of making allegations against the senior BJP leader L.K. Advani and the former Defence Minister George Fernandes linking them with Telgi, though there were some photographs showing them with him.
