Isolated rain likely in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI: Southwest monsoon has been active over coastal Karnataka. Rainfall occurred at most places over coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep and at a few places over south interior Karnataka. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and north interior Karnataka.

The following stations recorded very heavy to heavy rainfall in cm:-

Karwar 14, Siddapura (Udupi dt) 9, Dharmasthala (Dakshina Kannada dt) and Sringeri (Chickmagalore dt) 8 each and Belthangadi (Dakshina Kannada dt), Kammardi and Lakkavalli (both Chikmagalur dt) 7 each.

Forecast (valid until Sunday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places over coastal Karnataka and Kerala, at many places over south interior Karnataka and at a few places over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, north interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Rayalaseema.

Heavy Rainfall Warning: Isolated heavy rain is likely to occur over Kerala, coastal and south interior Karnataka during next 48 hours.

Isolated light to moderate rain is likely to occur over Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.

Outlook for subsequent two days: No significant change.
