NEW DELHI: Delhi Lieutenant Governor B L Joshi has dismissed Metropolitan Magistrate V K Sharma, posted at Tis Hazari courts here, on charges of corruption and in violation of the conduct rules. Mr. Joshi passed the orders based on the report submitted by Justice Pradeep Nandrajog of Delhi High Court who headed an inquiry into the matter following the information by CBI on the alleged involvement of Sharma in corrupt practices, an official source said. It was during a raid in the disproportionate assets case, CBI had seized documents indicating involvement of the judge and since the matter was pertaining to a sitting judge, the investigation agency informed the Delhi High Court, which then set up an inquiry into the matter. The order, passed on July 28, said, "...the conduct of Vinod Kumar Sharma is unbecoming of a judicial officer and is in violation of the conduct rules as applicable to the Delhi Judicial Services officers and that the imposition of a major penalty on him would meet the ends of justice... Now, therefore the L-G imposes on Sharma, a member of Delhi Judicial Services, the penalty of dismissal from service .''- PTI
