Superb spell by Ashish Reddy

HYDERABAD : Gemini Friends drew its match against Oxford Blues, thanks to Ashish Reddy's superb spell of seven for 45, in the A-Division (two-day) league cricket championship here on Friday.

The scores:

A-Division (two-day league): Gemini Friends 503 for eight decl. (G. Rohith Kumar 61, Sanketh Shah 73, Sridhar 81) drew with Oxford Blues 112 (Rafiq 48, Ashish Reddy seven for 45).

EMCC 104 (G. Srinivas four for five) drew with Syndicate Bank 107 for two.

A-2 Division (one-day league): Saleem Nagar 224 (M.A. Layeeq 65) bt Natraj 137 (Kartik 41, M.A. Layeeq six for 36 and Shahed four for 27).

Gusti on target

Gusti Noria, with a score of 46/50, stole the show in the skeet event for seniors in the seventh AP State shooting championship at the SAAP Shooting Range in Central University here on Friday.

Player's death condoled

The Hyderabad Carrom Association condoled the death of Nazia Hassan Ansari, who died in a road accident in the city recently. She represented the State in various sub-junior and junior nationals. B.K. Haranath, President, and S. Madanraj, Secretary of HCA, conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members.

BSC posts win

Boys Sports Company defeated St. Paul's High School 76-48 in the men's section of the MCH annual open basketball tournament at the Victory Playground here on Friday.

In the women's section, SCR put it across St. Ann's Junior College 66-22.

AP cycle polo teams

M.M.S. Priyanka and W. Punchasheela will lead Andhra Pradesh sub-junior and senior teams respectively in the fourth National cycle polo championships in Puri from August 21.
