Additional funds for Sikh riot victims

SHIMLA: Based on the reports of the Justice Nanavati Commission and recommendations of the Union Government, the Himachal Government has decided to distribute additional funds amounting to Rs 1.93 crore to the 1984 Sikh riots victims in the State.

This amount will be in addition to the amount already paid to the victims.

The State Government had taken steps for implementation of this enhanced relief package and had constituted a State Level Committee under the Chairmanship of the Chief Secretary. The Divisional Commissioners were nominated as nodal officers in respect of their respective division.
