PROBLEMS GALORE: An old woman of Bedoda village pouring out her woes to the Central team officials on Friday.
JAINAD (ADILABAD DT.): A team of two Central Government officials Mehta and Rajagopal accompanied by State coordinating officer S.K. Sinha visited the flood-hit areas of Bela and Jainad mandal on Friday. The team, which came to assess the flood damage, was assisted by district Collector R. Subba Rao, Joint Collector A. Dinakar Babu and other local officials. Adilabad MLA C. Ramchander Reddy too accompanied the team. The officials started their visit with Dahegaon in Bela mandal where they spoke to locals who briefed them about the extent of damage to crops. The team also made a note of the damage to houses and crops at Maniarpur, Guda, Kamgarpur and Bedoda villages of the same mandal.
Fields inspected
The team inspected along the 12 km route in Bela and Jainad mandal farm fields, which were converted into swamps because of siltation. The road was also damaged at several places. They returned via Umri and Kapri to Jainad mandal headquarter village where a power point presentation and photo exhibition on the calamity was also organised. They later flew to Khammam district from here.
