Thiruvananthapuram: Bharatheeya Manavik Vijnan Communication Limited's multilingual Bharath TV channel will be on air from August 27. "The channel to be launched on August 27 will capture the essence of India and open new doorways to the world of entertainment and news," chairman of Bharath TV Subramaniam Kumar and actor and brand ambassador of the channel Mukesh told a press conference. Being uplinked from abroad, full-fledged operations of the channel would commence in January. Actors Sunil Shetty, Dileep, cricketer Sreesanth and director Sangeet Sivan would jointly light the ceremonial lamp at a function at the Chandrasekharan Nair stadium in the capital on August 27 to inaugurate the telecast of the channel. A cultural programme presented by over 300 artists would be the highlight of the ceremony. Claiming that the channel would be "unique and different", Mr. Kumar said Bharath TV would offer a comprehensive menu of programmes to viewers.
