IRRESISTIBLE: The Hindu Metroplus Lifestyle Show going on at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium, Kochi. Photo: Mahesh Harilal
KOCHI: Four days since it began, people from within and outside Kochi have been thronging The Hindu Metroplus Lifestyle Show at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium, Kaloor. With the event set to conclude on Monday, the weekend crowd just could not remain indoor. Saturday and Sunday saw serious and not-so-serious shoppers land up at the venue. Brisk business went on at the stalls. New products and stalls have come up in the two air-conditioned hangars, which house the show. Spacecraft furniture which in many ways ensures space utilisation, dishwashers, electric chimneys, antiques, electric tandoor, portable basins with shelves beneath, carpets from Turkey, stalls featuring colourful sarees and churidars, artificial flowers and hand bags from Thailand... quite a few new range of products appeared in the stalls. Among those who have set up stalls is Star Cruises, which operates cruise ships in India and South-East Asia. Hyundai, Tata and Kinetic are among the automobile firms that are participating. Sony, Godrej, Reliance, Onida and Whirlpool are among the others who have stalls. Then there are entrepreneurs like Veena from Mumbai and Kutch Crafts, which have brought in their collection of garments.
