THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A new showroom of the Quilon Radio Service (QRS) - a leading retail chain of consumer electronics and home appliances - was opened at Karamana on Sunday. This is the 18th showroom of the organisation in the State.

S. Gauthaman and S. Muralidharan, managing partners of the firm, told a press conference that the opening of the showroom was part of an expansion plan that would result in the organisation having 25 showrooms in the State in three years.

The showroom was designed with a view to bringing international shopping experience to Kerala and was dedicated to the memory of founding partner D. Thilagarajan, they said.

The QRS, a Rs.300-crore company that seeks to do business of Rs.1,000-crore in five years, will offer special purchase schemes for washing machines and dryers during the monsoon season and cash discounts and gifts during the festive season. The showroom located by the side of the national highway offers plenty of parking space, he added.
