82 refugees arrive in Dharmapuri

Dharmapuri: As many as 82 Sri Lankan Tamils arrived here on Sunday. The refugees comprising of 22 families were transported from Mandapam camp and accommodated in camps established at Thoppaiyar, Nagavathi, Vaaniyar, Panchapalli and Thumbalahalli dams.

Collector M. Chandrasekaran visited the camps and asked officials to provide basic amenities. Besides the monthly supply of rice and kerosene a sum of Rs.400 would be provided to the Head of the family, Rs.280 to children above 12 years and Rs.180 and Rs.90 to the second and third child respectively, he said. More than 720 refugees are already in the camps in the district.
