Sanya (China): Amandeep Johl returned a successive two-under 72 card to finish ninth after the fourth and final round of the $200,000 Crowne Plaza Open here on Sunday. The veteran fired three birdies against a lone bogey to slip from Saturday's tied sixth spot, but good performances in the previous rounds ensured a top-10 finish for the Indian. Johl finished with a four-day total of 12-under 276 — four shots behind the 17-year-old Thai prodigy Chinarat Phadungsil, who defeated compatriot Prom Meesawat and Chinese Taipei's Lin Wen-tang in the play-off to claim the title.
Chinarat edged out Prom and Lin in the second hole of a sudden-death shoot-out after the trio finished tied at 16-under-par 272. — UNI
