Quake shakes South Pole

TOKYO: An earthquake of magnitude 7.2 shook the South Pole on Sunday, the Japan Meteorological Agency said. It could produce a tsunami in shallow waters, the agency said. It added that the quake posed no tsunami threat to Japan. — Xinuha
