NEW DELHI: Subhash Chopra was elected as the new president of the Delhi Soccer Association (DSA). In a unanimous decision reached at the annual general body meeting of the DSA at the Nehru Stadium here on Sunday, and attended by 79 of the 81 members, Chopra was elected unopposed, following the withdrawal by the opposing candidate Umesh Sood, a former DSA president. Sood said he took the decision in the interest of the game and expected the new committee to work in unison under Chopra's guidance. Chopra appreciated the gesture by Sood and promised to take the necessary steps to ensure smooth and transparent functioning of the DSA. Chopra has been given the mandate to form his team of office-bearers.
