BANGALORE: Avadhani Nethralaya, a hospital established to deal with various eye disorders located at Basavanagudi, was inaugurated here on Sunday.

Health Minister R. Ashok, Bangalore City Police Commissioner, N. Achutha Rao and Kannada film actor Shivarajkumar were the guests of honour for the occasion.

The hospital offers patients specialised eye care including, phacoemulsification cataract surgery (suture less cataract surgery) diabetic eye care, management of retinal disorders and refractive surgery for people wearing glasses. It also has an optical shop dispensing optical wear. Medical director of the hospital K. Ravi has specialised in vitreo-retinal disorders from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences.

The hospital houses the Avadhani Dental Clinic, run by Kavitha Ravi, who holds a master's degree in aesthetic dentistry and endodontics.
