Swantons wins

Thiruvananthapuram: Swantons Cricket Club, Ernakulam, crushed Rovers Cricket Club, Thiruvananthapuram, by eight wickets and entered the semifinals of the G.V. Raja memorial all-Kerala tournament at the Medical College ground here on Sunday.

The Ernakulam side dismissed Rovers CC for a paltry 79 in 23 overs. A quick-fire 58 off 30 balls by Rejilal set the tone for a comprehensive win for Swantons, which romped home in the 11th over.

The scores: Rovers CC 79 in 23 overs (Aravind three for 16) lot to Swantons CC 80 for two in 11 overs (Rejilal 58).
