Taanya Ravi takes crown

MANDYA: Taanya Ravi claimed the girls' U-13 singles title in the State badminton championship with a 21-19, 21-5 victory over Uttara Prakash at the PET Stadium here on Sunday.

Taanya also made it to the quarterfinals of the U-16 singles section.

Meanwhile, Reshma Karthik and S. Sudeep emerged as girls' and boys' champions respectively in the U-10 section. Sudeep snatched an exciting 6-21, 23-21, 21-17 win over top seed Mithun Manjunath, while Reshma Karthik humbled Priya Prakash 21-5, 21-5 in the girls' final.
