CHANDIGARH: Rich tributes were paid to the late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his 62nd birth anniversary at a function organised here by the Chandigarh District Congress Committee (Urban). General Secretary of the Chandigarh unit Sunil Parti and district president Surjit Chaudhary and other local leaders described Rajiv Gandhi as the "architect of modern India whose initiatives ushered in rapid transformation in the country". It was Rajiv Gandhi who took personal interest to put India on the world map so far as the telecom and computerisation were concerned, they added.
