Congress leader tries to end life?

Staff Reporter

KARIMNAGAR: Unable to undergo mental torture due to his alleged "isolation and suppression" and restricting his political growth by the Congress, the Karimnagar Town Congress committee president, Akarapu Bhaskar Reddy, made a suicide attempt by consuming sleeping pills in Karimnagar town on Sunday morning.

Bhaskar Reddy woke up early in the morning and went to the statue of Rajiv Gandhi in the market area and consumed the sleeping pills. The morning walkers and others noticed him in deep sleep near the statue and alerted the police, who rushed to the spot and shifted him to a private hospital. His condition is stated to be out of danger.

In a note, which was left at the site and taken away by the police, he had reportedly stated that he had resorted to this extreme act unable to undergo mental torture due to his isolation by the party high command.

He also reportedly alleged that the Minister for Sports, M Satyanarayana Rao, was suppressing his political growth and encouraging his own community people and neglecting the youth leaders.
