ADILABAD: A rally was taken out from Ambedkar Chowk by students in Adilabad town on Sunday in connection with the Rajiv Gandhi Akshaya Urja Diwas. The rally passed through main roads and culminated in a public meeting at Gandhi Park. Adilabad MLA C. Ramchander Reddy and Municipal chairman Digambar Rao Patil underscored the need for exploiting natural resources to meet fuel needs.
Bio-gas
For rural areas, bio-gas was the answer, they added. Collector R. Subba Rao said Rajiv Gandhi's dream of tapping the potential of non-conventional energy should be fulfilled. Prizes were given away to winners of essay and painting competitions on non-conventional energy. J.V.V. Satyanarayana, Adilabad District Manager, Non Conventional Energy Development Corporation participated. Urja Diwas is observed every year this day to promote use of non-conventional energy.
