`Former Prime Minister was committed to the principles of non-violence'

MANGALORE: Rajiv Gandhi was a trendsetter who initiated the communications revolution in the country, Narahari, Dean, Faculty of Commerce, St. Aloysius College, has said.

Inaugurating a blood donation camp organised by the District Youth Congress as a part of the birth anniversary celebrations of the former Prime Minister, he said Rajiv Gandhi's life was worthy of being emulated by all politicians.

Rajiv Gandhi was committed to the principles of non-violence, but unfortunately became a victim of violence, Mr. Narahari added.

Tree plantations and blood donation camps will be held throughout the district to mark the anniversary, Dakshina Kannada District Youth Congress president B. Jagannath Shetty said.

The blood donation camp was held in association with Mangalore Nursing Home, Red Cross Society and Kasturba Medical College.
