CHENNAI: Tata Consultancy Services will host its national inter-school Information Technology quiz at the Music Academy here on Thursday.

The quiz is open to students from classes eight to twelve and aims to improve awareness about IT among students.

Schools can send a maximum of eight teams of two members each.

The quiz will cover the Internet, websites, IT buzzwords, acronyms, history of IT, communication companies, software products, brands and multimedia, besides advertisements, people and fields related to or impacted by IT.

Six teams would be selected after a written preliminary on Thursday. Quizmaster Giri Balasubramniam will host the quiz.

All finalists will take home prizes and gift hampers. Those who participate from the audience also have the chance of winning prizes.

The event began in Bangalore on August 5th and would move through Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Kochi, Pune, Delhi and Lucknow.

Winners in all the cities would participate in the finals to be held in Mumbai.
