Woman found murdered, husband being questioned

BANGALORE: An advocate's wife was found murdered at the couple's residence in Yelahanka Satellite Town Police Station limits on Saturday.

The police gave the name of the dead as Hemalatha (30), wife of Nagaraj, resident of Yelahanka Satellite Town 5th Block.

The police said the couple were married since eight years they couple had a six-year-old girl and a four-year-old boy.

It was said the parents of Nagaraj were opposed to the marriage. They reportedly got Nagaraj to marry again.

It was said Nagaraj was staying with his second wife and had come to Hemalatha's house on Saturday. The police said a quarrel broke out between the couple and Nagaraj allegedly strangled Hemalatha to death.

Hemalatha's father has lodged a complaint with the police accusing Nagaraj of murdering her.

The police suspected it to be a case of murder as they found bruises around Hemalatha's neck.

Yelahanka Satellite Town Police have registered a case. They are questioning Nagaraj.

Robbery

In a series of robbery incidents reported from Viveknagar Police Station limits, robbers decamped with valuables and cash.

The robberies took place between 9 p.m. on Saturday and 3 a.m. on Sunday.

The robbers waylaid Arun, a marketing executive near Agaram Junction around 3 a.m. and robbed him of Rs. 2,000 in cash and a mobile phone handset.

Arun was riding a motorcycle when the incident occurred, the police said.

Around midnight, the robbers waylaid a motorcyclist Sushanth Sharma near Nullah Road and relieved him of Rs. 500 in cash and a gold chain after threatening him with a knife.

In another incident, the robbers waylaid Sunil S. Kaujalagi, working with a private firm on MG Road near ASC Centre, and robbed him of Rs. 10,000 in cash, a wristwatch and a mobile phone handset.

Viveknagar Police have registered cases. Investigation is on.
