Special Correspondent
Pondicherry: All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam legislator A. Anbalagan lodged his protest during zero hour in the Assembly on Monday against what he called Ministers announcing policy decisions in fora outside the House when the Assembly was in session. He said that there were announcements by some Ministers, while participating in a private institution's function recently, that the Government would concede the plea of the private schools to sanction pension scheme for their staff and that it would increase the grant given to private institutions in the Union Territory. It was the convention that when the House was in session no announcements covering Government policy decisions and also those should be decided by the council of ministers should be made anywhere outside the House. Chief Minister N. Rangasamy intervened to tell the member that no announcement for final decision was made as had been alleged by the member. The Government had only told the private institutions that their plea for a hike in grant and pension scheme would be taken up for consideration before taking a decision.
