Four A.P. tourists drowned in Orissa

  • Two persons, including a 8-year-old boy, still missing

    BHUBANESWAR: Four women tourists from the East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh were drowned and two others, including an 8-year-old boy, went missing when they were swept away by a huge sea wave at Chandrabhaga near the Sun temple at Konark on Monday morning. The incident occurred around 6 a.m. while the tourists who came in a group of 40 persons were taking bath in the sea.

    A total of 15 persons were swept away by the waves. But the local people managed to rescue nine of them. Four bodies were found at a short distance from the place where they were taking a bath. They were identified as Kari Ankaiah Amma, Kari Kanchan, Kari Mahalaxmi and Thunduri Manga. Adilaxmi and Thunduru Venkatesu (8) were missing and there was no trace of them till evening.
