Sivaraj stars in Tiruchi's win

NEYVELI: Sivaraj took five for 27 as Tiruchi defeated Virudhunagar by eight wickets in the a TNCA inter-district under-19 cricket tournament match here on Sunday.

The scores:

Zone `C': At Cuddalore: Cuddalore 82 in 30.5 overs (K. Vignesh five for 26) lost to Villupuram 84 for seven in 18.5 overs (C.S. Govardhan five for 25).

At Neyveli: Virudhunagar 138 in 40.3 overs (Sivaraj five for 27) lost to Tiruchi 140 for two in 33.2 overs (G. Terance Savio 67 not out).

Tiruchi (13 points) and Villupuram (eight) have qualified for the next stage.

Zone `E': At Nagapattinam: Ramanathapuram 146 in 46.1 overs (Baskarasethupathy 62) lost to Kancheepuram 150 for six in 31 overs.

Tirunelveli 155 in 43.5 overs (Rajadurai 42) bt Nagapattinam 149 in 44.4 overs (Vivek 43).

Kancheepuram (10) and Tirunelveli (eight) have qualified for the next stage.

At Coimbatore: Coimbatore 282 for six in 50 overs (Sounderamani 46, Shahjahan 85 not out) bt Krishnagiri 133 in 41 overs (Senthil three for 33, S. Mayurnath three for 9).

Madurai 290 in 47.3 overs (R.G. Vignesh 54, Manoj 75) bt Thanjavur 200 for nine in 50 overs (Rajkumar 41, Manoj five for 24).

Coimbatore and Krishnagiri have qualified for the next stage.

At Salem: Thiruvarur 82 in 23.3 overs (C. Vijayakanth four for 18, R. Balaji three for 6) lost to Karur 83 for four in 13 overs (C. Vijayakanth 39 not out).

Salem 158 in 43.5 overs (R. Amit Singh 41, S. Vivek Athinam three for nine, K. Pandian four for 36) bt Sivagangai 139 for eight in 38 overs.

At Namakkal: Thiruvannamalai 198 for nine in 36 overs (S. Senthil 54, P. Prabhakaran four for 17) bt Namakkal 183 for eight in 36 overs (P. Prabhakaran 52, G. Sugan 45, M. Vikesh Kumar four for 39).

Perambalur 58 in 21.4 overs (R. Rohit three for 18, Faiz Ullah Sherriff three for 16, V. Naveen Kumar three for four) lost to Vellore 59 without loss in 12.4 overs.
