Women's group to run PHC

Staff Correspondent

The group will depute doctors and other staff

Bidar: The primary health centre (PHC) at Chintaki village in Aurad taluk will henceforth be managed by a private non-profit organisation.

Former minister and MLA Gurupadappa Nagamarapalli was present at the function organised on Sunday to hand over management of the primary health centre to Bidar-based women's group Nagalambika Mahila Mandal.

Changeover

District Health and Family Welfare officer Pandurang Pujari said the changeover had been effected on the directions of the Commissioner of Health and Family Welfare.

New postings

"The new management will depute its own doctors and staff in the hospital. We have therefore relieved the doctors and staff of the hospital. We will give them new postings," he said.

Zilla panchayat member Nandini Phulari and gram panchayat president Tejamma were present.
