Belgaum: The jeep in which the former deputy Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was travelling was pelted with stones in Athani town on Monday. According to sources, Mr. Siddaramaiah was heading for a function when the incident occurred. Though on one in the jeep was injured, its windscreen was damaged. The senior Congress leaders Basavaraj Rayareddy and Amarsinh Patil; All-India Progressive Janata Dal vice-president Satish Jarkiholi; Shahjahan Dongargaon, former MLA; and Mahesh K., member of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee were in the jeep with Mr. Siddaramaiah. Sources said one of the three people suspected to have stoned the jeep was arrested. The police are on the lookout for the two others. Mr. Siddaramaiah arrived in Athani after visiting a relief centre at Radaratti village.
