KOLLAM: A district rally of the CPI(M), in protest against the alleged anti-people policies of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government, will be held on August 23. The rally is part of a nation-wide protest being organised by the party. At a press conference here on Monday, CPI(M) district secretary K. Rajagopal said more than 50,000 party workers will take part. The rally is being organised in such a manner that there will not be traffic blocks. The rally will culminate at the Quilon Athletic Club grounds and a meeting will be addressed by CPI(M) Polit Bureau member S. Ramachandran Pillai and Labour Minister P.K. Gurudasan.
