Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: Metro train services on the Shahdara-Rithala Line I here were temporarily suspended for 20 minutes during peak rush hour on Monday after a train driver spotted a bag lying near the track between Seelampur and Shastri Park stations.

According to a Delhi Metro Rail Corporation spokesman, the train services were disrupted from 9-27 a.m. to 9-47 a.m. due to the incident and were restored only after the bag had been checked with a metal detector by Delhi Metro Rail Police staff. It was found to be containing garbage. It was removed from the site and normal services resumed.

In view of incident, however, four trips were cancelled in each direction, and this caused a lot of inconvenience to the passengers.
