Bank branch shifted

CHENNAI: Punjab National Bank, Tambaram East branch, has been shifted to new premises on Monday. Jagat Ram, Zonal Manager, Punjab National Bank, inaugurated the new premises.

Free dental camp

Bhaskar Dental Foundation, T. Nagar conducted a free dental camp for senior citizens to mark I-Day celebration. 61 senior citizens were given a thorough dental check up, medicines, toothbrush and tooth powder. Blood pressure and weight were also checked. Sanjeev Patnaik, vice-president, regional sales head, M/s. Lotus Asset Management Company, presided.

Personality workshop

`Be a New You,' is a workshop on creating new choices of teaching Neuro Linguistic Programming for personal excellence. In the workshop, participants learn experiential processes to transform limitations that block growth, release latent energy and open untapped potential and build powerful resources for the future. New office bearers

Dev Kumar Bala, Senior Manager, Personnel, Eveready Industries, has been appointed chairman of the Chennai Chapter of the National Institute of Personnel Management for 2006-08. Other office bearers are: J.A. Kumar and P. Murugesan, vice-chairmen, S. Kumaralingam, honorary secretary, K.M. Ramalingam, honorary additional secretary and A.S.K. Senthil Kumar, honorary treasurer.

Date extended

The last date for issue of applications for the Rev. Dr. G. Rajakumar Memorial Best Teachers Annual Awards is extended from August 21 to August 26. The late date for submission of duly filled in applications is extended from August 26 to August 28.

Essay competition

Sri Durgadevi Polytechnic College, R.S.M. Nagar, Kavaraipettai, celebrated Independence Day with inter-polytechnic college elocution and essay competitions. The prize distribution was conducted on R.M.K. Engineering college premises.

Training programme

The Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation, Exnora Internaational and Sree Krishna Sweets organised a training programme at Thakkar Bapa Vinoba Hall. Sulochana Ramaseshan, president, Exnora International, inaugurated it. Auto drivers took an oath of good conduct. Similar training programmes will be organised in Madurai, Coimbatore and Tiruchi.

New KG block opened

Vidya Mandir inaugurated its new KG Block that was started in the golden jubilee year 2005-06. The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Madras, S.P. Thyagarajan, inaugurated it on Sunday. The block is named Uma Srinivasan K.G. Block.

Blood donation camp

The Indian Overseas Bank organised a blood donation camp at its Mylapore branch in association with the Madras Egmore Lions Blood Bank. Around 100 volunteers donated blood.
