Draft notification on delimitation of wards soon

VISAKHAPATNAM: Draft notification on the delimitation of wards in Greater Visakahpatnam Municipal Corporation is expected to be issued sometime during the week. The notification will contain boundaries for wards. It will give a week's time for filing of objections. The draft notification along with the objections would be sent to the Municipal Administration and Urban Development for issuing a final notification, it is learnt.

The exercise assumes importance in view of a preliminary meeting convened by the MA and UD Department on August 24 in Hyderabad on the delimitation of wards and other issues in GVMC for which elections are to be held. The meeting precedes the State Election Commission's meeting scheduled for August 30.
